Summitview Academy is a certified Non-Public School (NPS) that provides individualized special education and supplemental mental health services for students between the ages of 6-21 whose needs cannot be met in a less restrictive setting. Summitview Academy operates two classrooms all located in a centralized location. Class size is limited to no more than 14 students, with each classroom being staffed with one credentialed Teacher and up to three Special Education Learning Coaches.
Programs for Individualized Education
The key elements of care and education at Summitview Academy are traditional academics coupled with a strong behavior management system. Student’s placement, educational goals and progress are developed and monitored via the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) if needed, Academic Road Map for private placements, and transcripts from district of origin.
Extracurricular Skills
In addition to traditional academics, Summitview Academy offers extracurricular activities. These activities include a focus on art, sports and a diverse range of musical instruments.
We also have extensions of our academic clubs' in residential hours, so students can continue to practice at home.
Emotional and Behavioral Services
Summitview Academy provides services to students with emotional and/or behavioral challenges that have an adverse impact on their learning or the learning of other pupils. Our NPS specializes in effectively educating and treating youth who demonstrate a wide variety of severe emotional and behavioral issues. Identified problems at the time of admission may include extreme non-compliance, physical and verbal aggression, poor peer interaction, impulsivity, distractibility, hyperactivity, trauma related behaviors, property destruction, and self harm.
