The admissions manager receives referrals from multiple sources (Child welfare, Probation, ERMHS (Educationally Related Mental Health Services), AAP (Aid to Adopt), and Kaiser. The admissions manager reviews each referral and discusses youth with an admissions team before scheduling a meet and greet to determine whether admission will follow.
Summitview accepts youth clients from the ages of 6-17 who demonstrate a wide variety of behavior disorders, including extreme noncompliance, physical and verbal aggression, explosive behavior, poor peer interaction, poor adult interaction, runaway behavior, suicidal behavior, self-harm behavior, and hyperactivity/distractibility. Clients with a pronounced history of fire setting are not accepted due to the rural nature of the facilities.
