Heather has been the Principal of the Non-Public School, Summitview Academy since August 2021. She came from the San Juan Unified School District after a successful twenty-five-year teaching career. Heather earned her bachelor’s degree (1993), and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (1996) from California State University of Sacramento and went on to earn her Master of Education from La Verne University (1999). Heather has a passion for working with youth and enthusiastically brings her years of working in high need, Title 1 schools to Summitview Academy where she blends her public-school expertise with the unique needs of the Summitview youth. Heather brings her love for athletics and her own basketball journey to the love of teaching and leading others, always with a growth mindset and cheering on the individuals as well as the team in a school environment.
